I’m a curious person who’s always striving for new knowledge.
During my years as a biomedical engineer I enjoyed the work and had super friendly co-workers, but the last two years I started seeking something more for my next step in my career path. I was looking for new opportunities in the medical technology field but didn’t find anything that felt right during that time.
“I struggled a lot mentally, but fortunately I got a very supportive boyfriend (now husband) who suggested that I take a leave from work to free some time to reflect on what I really want.”
My husband is a software developer himself and introduced me to Tjejer Kodar. For fun, I signed up for their free coding assignments and it got me really obsessed! I could stay up late at night just tweaking and doing a lot of small adjustments trying to make the assignment “perfect”. After that, it didn’t take long for me to hand in an application for a leave of absence and to start attending the boot camp.
I started the Technigo boot camp Autumn 2021, and it opened up so many new opportunities for me. You get exposed to and become familiar with quite a lot of new technologies that you have never heard or seen before during a very short amount of time. Even though the bootcamp was at half pace, it was very intense and got me highly motivated and fully focused. It taught me how to approach new, unfamiliar tech information and documentation and how to utilise popular tools.
During the boot camp, a family member suddenly passed away which really shook me up, and I didn’t think I could manage to graduate. I want to say here once again, thank you Team Foxes! Thank you for your support and understanding. You were one of the reasons I could continue the course.
Thanks to the CCP (Career Coaching Program), we got to meet and connect with different tech companies. I got really lucky and got along with the CEO at Waymark AB after a LinkedIn connection. After a couple of interviews and four months in the boot camp, I signed a contract!
“I am so happy that I could immediately start working as a developer after the boot camp ended. Even though my first assignment didn’t use the tech stack we learned from the boot camp, I could catch up pretty fast because of the intense training from Technigo.”
My main focus right now is frontend development at a cruise company. I’m mostly carrying out improvements and bug fixes in their web application but also developing new features. The tech industry is moving so fast that you will never know everything, which keeps me highly motivated and excited for all the future challenges that come. I definitely haven’t regretted joining the Technigo bootcamp and it has been one of my greatest decisions in my life.
We're a female-founded, remote-first community helping people get a career they love. 90% of those attending our boot camps are women.
