2023 has been an exciting year for the tech industry, with some amazing innovations. We have seen how AI technology, especially generative AI which creates content based on given prompts, has made an incredible progress, becoming more accessible to everyone. We have created texts, music, images, videos, and more using tools like OpenAI, Midjourney, etc. However, concerns about biased data and ethical aspects have arisen. Who owns what is created with ChatGPT and similar tools?
It's also been a challenging year in many ways globally. In the tech industry, we witnessed the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, a crucial part of many startups, crushing numerous tech companies at the beginning of the year. Social media, as usual, played a significant role in our lives, with TikTok being the fastest-growing player and Twitter turned into X when Elon Musk took over.
"However, concerns about biased data and ethical aspects have arisen. Who owns what is created with ChatGPT and similar tools? "
Predicting what the next year will bring and how far technology will go is more complex than ever. AI technology is advancing fast, and things researchers thought would be possible in 5 years are already achievable now, but here are four areas I believe (and hope) will stand out in 2024:
Sustainability will undoubtedly be one of the biggest trends in tech in 2024. The world integrates technology into every aspect of life - banking, healthcare, and how we interact with others. However, we face a question: Are we making sustainable decisions? I expect to see more focus on this in 2024.
This year, we will see an even deeper integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into our lives. We anticipate increased personalization and engaging user experiences from intelligent assistants to advanced machine learning. We'll learn to work with AI more naturally.
Femtech continues to flourish, offering innovative solutions for women's health. Expect more focus on technological developments in the field, with products and services aimed at improving women's quality of life. It's time for women's health to receive the attention it deserves 👊.
Technology will play a central role in the education sector. VR and AR will be integrated to create engaging learning environments, while adaptive learning platforms will adjust to meet each student's needs. I mean, it's not impossible for students to have a tailored AI tutor adapted to their learning style and past experiences.
Overall, I look forward to 2024 and how technology will change how we learn, work, and live.
