Rawisara graduated from Technigo in June 2022. She signed an employment contract three weeks before graduation. Even though she is not working as a developer, she gets to use many coding skills everyday.

”I’d like to share my perspective from someone who first wanted to change careers and made a transition into a developer role but changed my mind later on. However, I’m very happy with my decision to have joined Technigo and accepted the offer for this job.”

Before Technigo, Rawisara worked as a risk analyst for an e-commerce company. She felt the work was a bit tedious and didn’t have much room for creativity.

“Frontend development allows me to be creative both with the design aspect and the technical aspect. One needs to be a little creative when it comes to finding a solution to a problem.”

Now, Rawisara works for a SaaS company within Ad Tech as a product specialist. “We facilitate the production of display ads, DOOH (Digital Out of Home) and social media. We also work with integrations with demand-side platforms. To keep it short, we build HTML5-ready banners! Though the platform allows advertisers, performance marketers and designers to produce high-quality HTML5 banners without coding knowledge.”

How coding skills help a product specialist

“The coding and skills within frontend development are very helpful in my role. I know exactly what is behind the scenes! And I know exactly what I need to code in order to produce the same effect. It’s all constructed of HTML, CSS and JavaScript but on a smaller scale.” Rawisara troubleshoots and works with API integrations, helping customers to achieve their expected outcomes. “I still learn everyday about the technologies used within frontend development and that’s fun! The possibilities are endless and you’re not limited to only work only as a frontend developer!“

“I realised that I enjoy the technical part of tech but I’m very curious about the commercial part, and that’s why the role I’m doing now is perfect for me!“

Reflections on the boot camp experience

“Technigo has provided me with insights of the life of a developer. We got to ask questions to people working in the industry and to our teachers (code coaches). We even mimicked how they work by working with sprints (agile methodology, Github, pair-programming, mob-programming, etc.).

You won’t know if something is for you until you try so if you have a chance, try coding! It’s been an intense 24 weeks but I really enjoyed the projects we built and getting to know my fellow students who have interesting backgrounds and are very brave to have made the decision to change careers!“
